Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor, a Geneva-based non-profit, non-governmental organization with regional offices and representatives across Europe and the MENA region, operates as a complement to and partner with other human rights organizations. Through our projects and in-depth reports, we both empower the vulnerable groups and probe broad patterns of behavior that call out for sustained attention. When helpful, we pose recommendations for dealing with humanitarian crises and helping those affected.

Specific tasks and responsibilities:

As a Field Researcher, you are expected to:

  • Provide field research and analysis, conduct surveys and prepare statistics on the refugee cases and their rights in Sweden.
  •          Provide draft reports and press releases concerning the refugee situation in Sweden. This may include some tasks; as making interviews, taking photos, and recording videos, upon request.
  • Prepare human rights reports and press releases on the required topics.
  • Participate and represent the organization in the activities, meetings and workshops taking place in Sweden, upon request.


Selection Criteria:

  •          A University degree in any of the following fields: Human Rights, Development Studies, International Relations, Migration or Refugee Studies, Social Science, or any related field.
  •          (last year student (120 credit) in combination with at least 6 months of relevant working or internship experience may be accepted
  •          Resides in Sweden.
  •          Proven analytical skills and experience of producing detailed briefings on a variety of human rights issues.
  •          Excellent communication skills and the ability to talk and deal with traumatized people and diplomacy with difficult personalities. 
  •          Ability to work independently and to deadlines
  •          Ability to work under pressure and juggle multiple activities.
  •          Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  •          Experience in media relations and/or public relations is a plus.
  •          Excellent English proficiency, both verbal and written. Swedish language is a plus.



Upon fully completing the required tasks during the month, a monthly salary of 1430 Euro/month will be paid to the selected applicant.
