Geneva- The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor, in cooperation with the Al-Jazeera Center for Public Liberties and Human Rights, organized an intensive training session on the individual complaints procedures of the International Human Rights Treaty bodies.

The Head of Partnerships and Research at Al-Jazeera, Dr. Hassan Al-Mojammar addressed the situations and cases in which international protection of human rights is most needed, in addition to the basic concerned international treaties and protocols of international conventions.

Al-Mojammar elaborated on the role of international bodies to receive complaints from individuals, groups and civil society organizations. Moreover, field researchers learnt more on the mechanisms that should be followed by individuals to complaint to legal bodies of the United Nations entrusted with receiving complaints against human rights violations.

Organizing this workshop aims at enhancing the skills of field researchers’ team of the Euro-Med in the Palestinian Territories as well as developing their capacities in the field of complaints against violations of human rights, which is a very important cornerstone of the Euro-Med's work.
